2. Products and Custom Orders

All products manufactured by Art Inlay are custom-made to specification. This includes marble inlay panels, waterjet marble medallions, pietre dure, marble floor medallions, mosaic installations, and bespoke architectural stone art.

Because every piece is produced to order:

  • No standard stock items are maintained for immediate dispatch.
  • Production begins only after written order confirmation and deposit receipt.
  • Design files, material specifications, and dimensions must be confirmed in writing before production commences.
  • Any changes requested after production begins may result in additional costs and revised lead times.

3. Quotations and Pricing

All quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated in writing.

Prices are quoted in USD unless an alternative currency is agreed in writing. Changes to dimensions, materials, quantity, or finish will require a revised quotation.

Art Inlay reserves the right to adjust pricing due to significant changes in material costs, currency fluctuations, or logistical conditions. Any such adjustment will be communicated before production commences.

4. Payment Terms

Standard payment terms:

  • 50% deposit required to confirm order and commence production.
  • 50% balance due prior to shipment, upon receipt of completion photos and inspection report.

For large-scale projects, alternative payment schedules may be agreed in writing. All payments must be made by bank transfer (TT) or as otherwise agreed. Failure to pay the balance within the agreed timeframe may result in storage charges or release of the production slot to another client.

5. Lead Times

Standard lead times range from 4 to 12 weeks depending on the complexity of the design, quantity, and current production schedule. Lead times are confirmed in writing at the time of order.

Lead times are estimates. Art Inlay will not be held liable for delays caused by material supply disruptions, shipping carrier delays, customs clearance, or events beyond our reasonable control.

6. Shipping and Delivery

Art Inlay ships factory-direct internationally. Standard shipping terms are EXW (Ex Works), Jiangmen unless otherwise agreed.

  • Export packaging is included in all quotes.
  • Freight forwarding, import duties, taxes, and customs clearance at the destination are the buyer’s responsibility unless a DDP or other arrangement has been agreed in writing.
  • Art Inlay will provide all necessary export documentation, including commercial invoice, packing list, and certificate of origin.
  • Risk of loss or damage transfers to the buyer upon handover to the freight carrier.

Art Inlay recommends buyers arrange marine cargo insurance for all shipments.

7. Inspection and Acceptance

Upon delivery, the buyer is responsible for inspecting all items within 7 calendar days.

Any claim for damage, defect, or shortage must be submitted in writing to contact@artinlay.com within this period, with photographic evidence attached. Claims submitted after this window will not be accepted.

Minor natural variation in stone colour, veining, and texture is inherent to natural marble and does not constitute a defect.

8. Returns and Cancellations

Due to the bespoke nature of all products:

  • Orders cannot be cancelled once production has commenced.
  • Returns are not accepted for custom-manufactured items unless there is a verified manufacturing defect.
  • If a defect is confirmed, Art Inlay will, at its discretion, repair, replace, or issue a partial credit.

Cancellations prior to production commencement must be submitted in writing. In such cases, the deposit is non-refundable if design work, material procurement, or toolpath programming has already been undertaken.

9. Intellectual Property

All design drawings, CAD files, technical specifications, and artwork produced by Art Inlay remain the intellectual property of Art Inlay unless explicitly transferred in writing.

Clients retain ownership of any designs, patterns, or artwork they supply to Art Inlay for production purposes. By submitting such materials, the client confirms they hold the rights to do so and indemnifies Art Inlay against any third-party intellectual property claims.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Art Inlay’s total liability in connection with any order or claim shall not exceed the value of that order.

Art Inlay is not liable for:

  • Indirect, consequential, or incidental losses.
  • Loss of profit, revenue, or project opportunity arising from delays, defects, or delivery issues.
  • Losses arising from misuse, improper installation, or failure to follow care and installation guidance.

12. Force Majeure

Art Inlay will not be in breach of these terms if performance is delayed or prevented by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, government restrictions, port closures, or carrier disruptions.

In such cases, Art Inlay will notify the buyer promptly and work to resume production or shipment as soon as reasonably possible.

13. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China. Any dispute will first be referred to good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes will be submitted to the competent court in Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province, unless an alternative jurisdiction has been agreed in writing.

For clients in the EU or US, Art Inlay is open to agreeing alternative dispute resolution procedures on a project-by-project basis.

14. Privacy
