Private Villa, Chongqing
Delivered for a Chongqing villa: floral inlay running up curved staircase treads — each tread a different radius — closing on a full-floor reception composition. Crema Marfil, Emperador Dark, Nero Portoro, cut on the waterjet to ±0.1mm and dry-assembled in the Jiangmen atelier before crating.

What this project had to solve

Delivered for a Chongqing villa: floral inlay running up curved staircase treads — each tread a different radius — closing on a full-floor reception composition.
Private Villa, Chongqing in detail
This Chongqing villa asked for a single floral runner to climb a curved staircase and then open into a full-floor reception composition. Every tread was a different radius, so the motif had to stay continuous as the flight turned and the geometry changed.
The runner was drawn as one continuous spiral and cut as interlocking tread segments from the approved CAD file. Crema Marfil, Emperador Dark and Nero Portoro were chosen for contrast, cut to ±0.1mm and dry-assembled in the factory, with anti-slip finishing honed into the walking line.
Installed, the inlay flows up the flight without a break and lands in the reception floor as one composition — the stair and the room read as a single drawing.
Because the treads could not be templated until the stair was built, the CAD model was held open until the site survey returned and each radius was then cut to match. The client kept the cut files, so any future repair can be matched exactly.
From drawing to crating
Full-size drawing
The pattern is drawn 1:1 on the atelier floor before any stone is cut, so proportions are settled at the scale you will walk on.
Stone selection
Blocks and slabs are chosen against the drawing, vein by vein, and photographed for your approval.
Waterjet cutting
Multi-axis waterjet cuts every piece direct from the approved CAD file, held to ±0.1mm across the whole figure.
Dry assembly & crating
The composition is assembled, inspected and numbered on the factory floor, then crated with a setting plan.
