Delivered for a palace-scale Dongguan villa: a ballroom-scale floral carpet in stone, pietre dure walls, and book-matched marquetry across four metres of entrance hall.
Palace-Scale Villa, Dongguan in detail
This palace-scale Dongguan villa brings together three techniques under one roof: a ballroom-scale floral carpet in stone, pietre dure walls, and book-matched marquetry panels spanning a four-metre entrance hall.
The floor carpet was cut from Crema Marfil with malachite, lapis and onyx inlay; the wall panels were matched leaf to leaf so the veins run continuous across the full four metres, with brass detailing picked out flush.
Installed, the ballroom, salon and dining hall read as a single decorated interior, the marquetry wall reflecting the floral carpet in stone.
The marquetry walls were book-matched leaf by leaf before machining, and the offcuts kept as a reference set. The ballroom carpet and the wall panels were cut from a single design file, so the two read as one composition across the room.
From drawing to crating
Full-size drawing
The pattern is drawn 1:1 on the atelier floor before any stone is cut, so proportions are settled at the scale you will walk on.
Stone selection
Blocks and slabs are chosen against the drawing, vein by vein, and photographed for your approval.
Waterjet cutting
Multi-axis waterjet cuts every piece direct from the approved CAD file, held to ±0.1mm across the whole figure.
Dry assembly & crating
The composition is assembled, inspected and numbered on the factory floor, then crated with a setting plan.
