What this project had to solve
A 6-metre medallion for a private estate, cut in segments that had to close invisibly on site.

Private Estate, Tanzania in detail
This private estate in Tanzania was built around a 6-metre entrance medallion — too large to ship in one piece, so it was cut in numbered segments that had to close invisibly when the local team laid it.
We plotted the medallion from a single centre, cut it in Crema Marfil, Nero Marquina and Giallo Siena to ±0.1mm, split it along the pattern lines, and dry-assembled the whole figure in Jiangmen — photographing it at full size before crating with a setting plan.
The reception floors and stair hall were cut and numbered the same way. Installed from our drawings, the estate floor reads as a single composition thousands of kilometres from where it was made.
The medallion segments were cut with matching registration marks, so the joints close on the pattern lines once assembled on site. A full-size photographic key, taken in the factory, was shipped with the crates as the reference for installation.
From drawing to crating
Full-size drawing
The pattern is drawn 1:1 on the atelier floor before any stone is cut, so proportions are settled at the scale you will walk on.
Stone selection
Blocks and slabs are chosen against the drawing, vein by vein, and photographed for your approval.
Waterjet cutting
Multi-axis waterjet cuts every piece direct from the approved CAD file, held to ±0.1mm across the whole figure.
Dry assembly & crating
The composition is assembled, inspected and numbered on the factory floor, then crated with a setting plan.
