London's finest residential architecture — from Grade II listed Georgian and stucco-fronted Victorian townhouses in Mayfair, Belgravia and Kensington to newly built Neo-Palladian country houses in Surrey and Oxfordshire — has a centuries-old tradition of geometric stone entrance halls. We fabricate custom marble inlay floors, compass-rose and neoclassical medallions, and Greek-key or guilloche borders proportioned specifically to British townhouse and estate rooms.
Working inside period London properties requires careful attention to irregular wall geometry, suspended timber or heritage screed build-ups, and wet underfloor heating systems. Rather than forcing a rigid stock grid into an out-of-square Georgian hallway, we survey and absorb any wall taper inside the outer field margin so the framed border and central medallion read as perfectly orthogonal.
Where an entrance hall steps through into a stair rotunda, morning room or conservatory, we carry the border geometry and stone block selection across thresholds and Portland or Carrara stair treads so the ground floor reads as a single architectural sequence.
Every floor is cut from approved CAD shop drawings, dry-assembled in our atelier for photographic sign-off by your London design studio, and shipped in numbered crates CIF to Felixstowe or Southampton, or delivered DAP directly to site.

The pattern is drawn 1:1 on the atelier floor before any stone is cut, so proportions are settled at the scale you will walk on.
Stone selection
Blocks and slabs are chosen against the drawing, vein by vein, and photographed for your approval.
Waterjet cutting
Multi-axis waterjet cuts every piece direct from the approved CAD file, held to ±0.1mm across the whole figure.
Dry assembly & crating
The composition is assembled, inspected and numbered on the factory floor, then crated with a setting plan.

Yes. From orthogonal site photographs, rubbings and reference measurements, our draughtsmen reconstruct the exact period geometry in CAD and source European marbles that match the patina and grain of the original floor.
We design the inlaid border as a true rectangle aligned to the front door and stair axis, absorbing any structural wall taper within the outer perimeter margin panels.
Yes. We engineer thermal movement joints along the border seams and can supply 18mm solid stone or lightweight 16mm aluminium-honeycomb-backed panels where floor build-up height or joist loading is restricted.
